A few months ago I traveled with Allen to Wisconsin. His mother recently passed away, and it was her desire to be buried near her family. For her that meant rural Wisconsin. Every time I go back, I'm struck by the immense beauty of the landscape. The rolling hills and scattered rivers are simply enchanting. We've been wanting to visit Frank Lloyd Wrights Taliesin for year, and just never made it. This trip we were kid free ad decided to splurge. I think Sheryl would have loved it.

We also stayed in Dubuque for a few nights. It was a surprisingly cool city. We found a really cool historic bed and breakfast. The Richards House. The host was incredibly kind and knowledgable. The breakfasts were incredible. The outside was unfinished, and from all accounts has been that way for quite a while. We stayed over Halloween, and the atmosphere was perfect

So, here are some of my favorite shots from both locations.
